Here’s an idea of what you can expect to see in the documentary portion of nWo: The Revolution, which hits stores on November 6th (pre-order it). Thanks to Sunny Gupta for sending in this fan report.

WWE nWo The Revolution DVD Blu-Ray

I finished watching the documentary and it was decent, nothing we didn’t already know from Back and Black and Monday Night War. But i enjoyed it and it just flew by. It was just a little over an hour.

Was very surprised they got Lex Luger and Vince Russo to provide comments. Looks like they were recent because no year was on the top right corner. They did have quite a few archive interviews though. Hogan and Hall’s comments are taken from directly from Back and Black, nothing really new and Bischoff from 2003, which looked to be from Monday Night War. Also Vince’s comments are from 2009 and Jimmy Hart’s from 2005. Billy Kidman, DDP, Booker T, and Dusty Rhodes were also heavily involved.

They also went over the crossover with media and WCW like involving Dennis Rodman, Karl Malone and Jay Leno. Those were mixed from the interviews, some say it was good for business and others like Bill Demott crapped on it.

They briefly went over nWo 2000…and a good portion was provided about Wolfpac, but mostly negative comments saying Wolfpac was the beginning of the downfall for nWo. They went over Finger poke of doom too.

Also Nash admitted the nWo Souled Out ppv was the worst concept coming from Bischoff. Another funny thing was Big Show crapping on him being with Dungeon of Doom.

This is probably no surprise but the WWF scratch logo is shown.

The pic below of the Blu-ray edition reveals another five Blu-ray exclusive extras that were not previously announced in the nWo Revolution DVD content listing. All of these look to be WCW “paid for by the nWo” vignettes aired in 1997-1999.

This is almost here, can’t wait I’ll be first to get it. I actually liked nWo 2000 wasn’t nWo of 1997 but could’ve been better if Bret didn’t get hurt.

  3. Bill Jones says:

nWo didn’t kill WCW, Vince Russo and the New Blood did plus when Ted Turner sold WCW to people that didn’t have a clue about the wrestling business.

  4. HankHill says:

So they didn’t put over how the nWo basically helped kill WCW? Shame

  5. Shane C. Montgomery says:

Very familiar with all the happenings from the WCW era NWO but quit watching just prior to WCW folding so I am hoping they spend some time on the WWF NWO version from later on. I am not sure how long that ran though. Maybe taking a chance buying this DVD for the hopes of some WWF era NWO.

  6. Geolink says:

I had it pre-ordered on Amazon for months.

Judging by this report… I think I’ll wait it out until there’s a lower price on it.

cannot wait for this to come out

  8. Rip says:

Why is Vince Russo on this DVD? Can’t he just disappear or go work for Blockbuster. Now, I don’t even know if I want this DVD. Damn!

  9. nightmare says:

Cool does this have the part when Eric was powerbomb by Nash off the stage on it .

  11. Thanks for this! Very interesting. I would like to know more about those additional vignettes and why they aren’t on Silver Vision’s listing.

I have no problem with them using old interviews of Hogan and Bischoff. I mean honestly, what else could they have said in new interviews that they didn’t already say in the old ones? Whatever they had to say about the nWo is already in the can and WWE can just use that. It’s not like there’s been any new nWo developments since 2002 anyway.

    • Totally agree LP1. I’m not sure why people expected new interviews with Hogan, Bischoff and Hall. Most of the interviews for the Rise and Fall of WCW was drawing together older interviews and that worked pretty well. My concern was that they would avoid using older interviews and we wouldn’t have their input at all on the DVD, which would be a travesty. But to me it doesn’t matter if its a 2002 interview. Its all after the actual story of what happened. And to be honest I care more about the primary source footage than the revisionist documentary. It might be a blessing its kept short if they aren’t going to show it in a positive light. But they should make use of all their previous interviews to tell the story if they can’t get a new interview. I’m just not sure if that works as well with the ratio change. It seemed to work ok on the Wrestlemania Story blu ray, but I’m not too sure about that.

Very interesting that Vince Russo and Lex Luger were involved on the documentary. Seems like we’re going to be seeing alot of new faces on future documentaries. I really wish Hogan and Bischoff had been available for this, but it is what it is, I guess. The Blu-ray is a must own.

  14. Brad Attitude says:

i might pick this up after some time has passed as i’m quite skeptical about purchasing it. sux to hear guys like scott hall, hulk hogan and eric bischoff’s comments were all past footage from previous documentaries.

  15. WWEATTITUDEERA says:
