WWF Raw is War Titantron Stage

We have now received the official synopsis for the Raw 20th Anniversary Collection box set on the way for December, and not only does the synopsis reveal even more episodes but also other new details about this mammoth 12 disc DVD/10 disc Blu-ray collection.

Raw 20th Anniversary Collection: The 20 Greatest Episodes Uncut & Unedited” looks to be the official title of the box set and it will be released on December 3rd. As of right now the slated runtime of all of that footage is listed as 33.5 hours! [Pre-order yours here].

Celebrate 20 years of nonstop entertainment with Raw 20th Anniversary Collection: The 20 Greatest Episodes Uncut & Unedited. With over 1000 episodes to its credit, Raw is by far the longest running episodic program in TV history. In this 12-disc DVD / 10-disc Blu-ray collection, WWE presents the 20 most timeless episodes for the first time in their entirety.

From landmark anniversaries, milestones, ratings bonanzas, and unforgettable shows that left a particular mark in WWE history, these episodes represent the rawest of Raw. Including: the highest rated Raw ever; Mania the night after WrestleMania; WWE takes over WCW and simulcasts Nitro; Dude Love interrupts Stone Cold and Mr. McMahon; the original ECW invasion; Homecoming, Raw Roulette, WrestleMania Rewind and so much more!

Featuring John Cena, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Mick Foley, CM Punk and all the greatest Superstars in the history of Raw! Plus, Michael Cole and the Bella’s present the detailed facts & figures behind the personalities, matches, venues and all the various quirks that have shaped Raw over the years.

So, going off this second synopsis above, we can now say the following 4 episodes of Monday Night Raw all look to be included on the Raw 20th Anniversary set:

Original ECW Invasion of WWE RAW

- February 24, 1997 – The Original ECW Invasion

Highlights from this episode include: Stevie Richards vs. Little Guido, D-Von Dudley vs. Tommy Dreamer, The Legion of Doom vs. The Headbangers and The Undertaker vs. Farooq.

WWE Stone Cold vs Vince McMahon

- April 13, 1998 – Dude Love interrupts Stone Cold and Mr. McMahon

Highlights from this show include: Skull & 8-Ball vs. Savio Vega & Jose Estrada Jr; Billy Gunn vs. Owen Hart and of course the night long build to Austin vs. McMahon.

WWF Raw Vince McMahon WCW Nitro Simulcast

- March 26, 2001 – The Raw & Nitro Simulcast

Highlights from this episode include: Chris Benoit & The Hardys vs. Kurt Angle, Edge & Christian; “Chris Jeri-Doink” and The Rock & Steve Austin vs. Undertaker & Kane

WWE Raw Homecoming Kurt Angle vs Shawn Michaels

- October 3, 2005 – Homecoming

Highlights from this show include: Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle (Iron Man Match); Edge vs. Matt Hardy (Loser Leaves Raw MITB Ladder Match) and John Cena vs. Eric Bischoff.

It should also be noted that the March 26, 2001 and October 3, 2005 (Homecoming) editions of Raw did feature Chris Benoit (even a Benoit win on the former). Given that the set is being promoted as “Uncut and Uncensored” episodes, you’ve got to believe that no matches or segments of shows will be cut out and therefore that Benoit will be included.

Other episodes from the synopsis which we are unable to date are the post-WrestleMania and “WrestleMania Rewind” episodes. We suspect “the highest rated Raw ever” is the May 10, 1999 episode which we revealed last week, along with three other episodes.

In addition to the complete episodes, it looks like the set will also feature segments hosted by Michael Cole and The Bella Twins, judging by the line of the synopsis which reads, “facts & figures behind the personalities, matches, venues and all the various quirks that have shaped Raw over the years”. This could possibly be introduction segments to the episodes, similar to how WWE present Raw episodes on Classics on Demand.

UPDATE: A brief synopsis has now been added to the Amazon.com product listing which reveals three more episodes. The first ever Raw (January 11, 1993), the original DX Invasion (April 27, 1998) and Bret Hart’s return to WWE (January 4, 2010).

I don’t get one thing, you know how after the matches they have advertisements, well instead of those advertisements will they just show the wrestlers walking back to the ramp and into the locker rooms as it is ‘uncut’ and unedited.

  2. Brian says:

Raw After Mania should be included.

  3. Avatar of Mr Z Mr Z says:

Congratulations Mark D for being the first person to ever use the phrase “Highlights from this show include Skull & 8-Ball”

I’m getting the Blu-Ray due to having full old episodes in full HD for the first time also I’m hopeing there will be blu-ray extras (hopeing it will be more full episodes e.g. as many per disc as possible).

Plus i think they should put the first raw roulette 2002 and christmas special 2000 and there is many more i want.

Although i do hope they bring out loads of these per year and smackdown ones plus full years of it would be brilliant (even if they do it in volumes etc I don’t mind).

    • Mr Disc says:

Just because you’re buying this on Blu-ray it doesn’t mean you are gonna get all these episodes in “full HD”. Only the Raw episodes that were recorded from January 2008 will be in HD ones recorded before 2008 will only be standard definition. Although if you purchase the Blu-ray version these episodes will still look slightly better on Blu-ray disc than they will on a DVD disc.

  6. Ricardo Fair says:

UNCUT & UNEDITED MY @$$, Benoit has been BLACKLISTED from WWE HISTORY! Doesn’t matter to me though, as i want this collection! The Blu-ray of course! ;)

  7. Steve says:

The ECW Invasion from 2001 was one of the best “overall episodes” on Raw in my opinion. Most of these are good but there are also a few that have a significant moment and the rest of the episode is lack luster. Another great episode that will never make a set like this would be when the Radicalz defected. It was a very significant time and overall episode but god knows we won’t get it on here.

  8. If barely any of the ones I mentioned get picked, here are some honorables:
The Episode where the WCW/ECW Alliance formed.
The First Raw from Madison Square Garden.
The Second Ever Draft from 04,Which is the best Draft Episode of all time
The Raw after Wrestlemania 14 Where Trips Takes over D-X
The Raw from MSG in August 2002 Where Kane returns(To me,That was a cool moment)
The First Raw of 2011,I thought that was an awesome episode
The Raw Episode with Tyson and Austin
The Raw where Jericho won the WWF Title for about an Hour
I also liked the Raw episode from July of 2006 where DX Took over the show, its a fun show

I may make a blog of other Full Raw Episodes that could be on Future Box Sets. This is all for now from me

    • Mr Disc says:

Jericho never won the title for an hour it was about 5 mins when Triple H got Earl to reverse the decision straight away.

  9. Avatar of Domenic Domenic says:

    Please include these episodes……..

5/21/01- Triple H Tears His Quad: Very Scary Moment
11/10/97- The Night After Survivor Series 1997
5/24/99- RAW Is OWEN- Very Sad Episode
2/25/13- John Cena vs. CM Punk
4/8/13- The Night After WrestleMania XXIX
6/27/11- CM Punk’s Epic Pipe Bomb
    10/28/02- Raw Roulette
    3/30/98- The Attitude Era Begins
4/11/11- Edge Announces He is Retiring

    • WWEFan2013 says:

I’m going to be brutally honest with your picks but most are AWFUL. I agree with RAW Roulette, Tag Match main event, and Post WM14 RAW

The other episodes you mentioned were awful. Punk’s pipebomb was a great moment but the rest of the 2 hour show (it was 2011 raw roulette) was painfully boring.

Don’t want to relive the owen RAW event it’s just too sad.

CM Punk/Cena match will be on best of RAW 2013 the rest of the episode SUCKED!

Post WM28 RAW > Post WM29 RAW the crowd was just insane for post wm29 raw but WM28 content was way better (Punk/Henry in a great match, awesome Rock promo and Lesnar return)

Edge raw was just a moment that has been released enough times now. The episode was nothing great.

      • Avatar of Domenic Domenic says:

Okay, I now see your point. I am now going to change my picks. However, these are the episodes that will be staying………..

        5/21/01- Austin/HHH vs. Benoit/Jericho
4/8/13- Post-WrestleMania XXIX Show- Ziggler Cashes In!!!
4/2/12- Post-WrestleMania XXVIII Show- Lesnar Returns!
        11/10/97- Post-Survivor Series 1997 Show
        10/28/02- Raw Roulette
        3/30/98- The Attitude Era Begins

I will now add these episodes…..

11/19/01- The Night After Survivor Series 2001
        6/7/10- Nexus Invasion
3/25/02- The First Ever Draft Lottery
4/21/97- Austin vs. Hart: Street Fight
        3/11/02- Raw Before WrestleMania 18
4/23/07- Shawn Michaels vs. John Cena: The Rematch

        • WWEFan2013 says:

Great picks. Pretty much agree with all except that Nexus one was terrible, it was another case of a unbelievable moment packed in to a terrible show (Like Punk pipebomb). I don’t know if you remember it but we had crap like dance offs and other stupid things (I think the episode was that power to the people one where fans vote the matches)

  10. Mike says:

Am I the only one that would really like to see the original old school raw from just before Survivor Series 2010?

  11. Jason P says:

I feel bad for the poor schlub that just paid $250 on eBay for the Homecoming DVD!

  12. Ronaldo says:

I hope it have the owen hart espiodes from may 1999 and Chris benoit and Chris Jericho vs triple-h and stone cold Steve Austin from the may 2001 espiodes

  13. Here are the remaining 11 episodes That I hope they include
1 The go Home Show to Invasion where the Old Stone Cold Returns
2 The Night After Survivor Series 2001
3 The Pillman’s Got a Gun Full Episode
4 The Go Home Show to Wrestlemania 13
5 The Episode where Taker and Paul Bearer try to Embalm Stone Cold
6 Kane’s Night of Destruction from November 1998
7 The Night after Wrestlemania 29
8 The Third Episode of Raw which had the Flair Vs Perfect Loser leaves Town Match
9 The First Ever Draft from March 2002
10 The Night After Mania 28
11 The First Raw Roulette Episode from October 2002

I hope this becomes a trend where they release a box set every year. Can’t wait for this

  14. Mr Disc says:

The April 21st 1997 episode was a good one also featuring the Bret v Austin street fight when Austin was hiding in the ambulance etc. Also it was the episode that had Mankind running down to the ring with a blowtorch. It had Goldust and Marlena hiding in the crowd to jump out on Triple H and Chyna. lol From what i can remember it was full of various crazy stuff.

  15. The ECW Invasion has got me sold screw everything else

  16. RabidHeat says:

I think ‘Uncut and Unedited’ just means they won’t edit any matches, segments or interviews, but I still expect the usual commentary edits during Benoit matches, music changes and edits to botches. I think as far as WWE are concerned, ‘unedited’ is a concept only used within reason. They just mean that tyou’re not gonna have a 15 minute chunk edited out of an episode or anything.

  17. Keon says:

I’m happy that Benoit will be on here, but does nobody realize that he already appeared on the War Games DVD which came out earlier this summer? If WWE has already released one of his matches in 2013, then I think it’s safe to assume that they’re ok with using him for future releases.

    • Avatar of David David says:

The War Games set was an anthology type release and was advertised as “every War Games match” same with the upcoming MITB anthology.

With the RAW set they can still pick and choose, especially ones without Benoit…the Nitro/RAW Simulcast and Homecoming were important shows so I doubt those would have been left off.

I don’t think i see anymore RAW episodes that involve Benoit, especially if he had a heavy presence. I’m guessing thats one of the reasons why WWE stopped airing Nitro at end of August 1998 on Classics on Demand – the reformation of the 4 horsemen started and it started to get “Benoit heavy” from late-1998 to 2000.

      • Keon says:

Fair enough. I also don’t see them selecting episodes that center around Benoit storylines too much. But I think the people who are concerned about them editing out matches and censoring his name from commentary are worrying over nothing. WWE has shown that they’re willing to put him on DVD in some capacity, so I can’t imagine them censoring him here.

  18. Patrick says:

For the “facts and figures”… my guess is they do the pop-ups like they did for the 15th Anniversary set.

  19. JAF says:

So we have 11 revealed episodes; I hope that the episode after WrestleMania 29 is included, also that episode where Undertaker costed Bret Hart the WWF Championship in a steel cage match & Hart shoved McMahon & went on to “shoot” on McMahon & the WWF.

  20. Jonathan M says:

Here’s what I love to see to be added. The 2004 Draft lottery episode, Raw 800 episode, Viewers choice where the Nexus debut, The Rock Birthday celebration, The Raw after wrestlemania 15, This is your life Mick Foley 2004 before Wrestlemania 20, the wrestlemania reverse the one that Stone Cold Steve Austin host in 2010. That’s all i can think off.

  21. The Grease says:

I’d like to see the highest rated Raw of 97, The Flag Match Raw on July 21, 1997 when Bret and Vincent fight at ringside.

  22. thejmp187 says:

Looks good. They can make a lot of money in continuing to do this. If they do wcw episodes at some point that would be freaking awesome.

  23. Avatar of Wonderllama Wonderllama says:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WWE_Raw_special_episodes

Looking at this list, episodes I want include all the Slammy episodes, 2008-2012. The nature of the shows make them a nice recap of the last few years. Also the 3 For All. I remember great matches on that show.

  24. BR says:

Can’t wait to see what all is on this set. I wonder what entrance music they’ll use for Undertaker in the 2001 episode since I doubt they’ll pay whatever to use Limp Bizkit’s “Rollin” music. I know it’s titled Uncut & Unedited, but I doubt they’ll go the extra mile to include “Rollin”.

  25. josh says:

I would like to see the “Rock, this is your life” episode on the 20th anniversary box set and also the episodes leading up to WrestleMania 18(the feud between Jericho and triple h).

  26. Vincenzzzzzo says:

This is going to be a great set. I really hope they put an episode on there from late 1996. Preferably the episode with Steve Austin vs Mankind “Toughman Contest”. Or, the episode in 1993 with Razor Ramon vs Rick Martel for the Intercontinental title in October ’93. I’m very interested in seeing what the Blu-ray exclusives will be on here too.

  27. Kiki says:

I may be wrong, but I thought the Owen hart tribute was the highest rated raw ever

  28. Avatar of Domenic Domenic says:

Please add the Raw Shows after Survivor Series 1997, and WrestleMania XXIX

  29. LP1 says:

@WWEFan2013, if you’re talking about the 3/17/97 episode where Bret fought Sid in the Cage match(and where Bret flipped out after the match) that was a actually the second episode of Raw Is War. The first episode was the week before, 3/10/97. If they include either one of those episodes they would almost surely dub out the main theme song which was Marilyn Manson’s “The Beautiful People”. Beginning with the Raw the night after Mania 13, 3/24/97, they started using “Thorn In Your Eye” as the official theme. But I’d be happy with either one of those episodes being included.

    • WWEFan2013 says:

Thanks for correcting. I don’t mind if it’s edited would like if it’s left intact but hardly anyone even knew that was the RAW theme for 2 weeks lol.

  30. ZJ says:

They’ve got to have some of the mid-1998 episodes leading into KOTR and Summerslam…Legendary moments each and every week.

  31. Scott says:

I am sorry but to list cena first when Raw has had alot better episodes with HBK,Bret, and SCSA

  32. @IMDJLUIS says:

The 3 hour commerical free episode from Canada was pretty cool, I’d like to see that one. Also the Eddie Guerrero tribute show had a lot of great matches on it aside from it being a tribute show.

  33. rocky245 says:

Homecoming and the 1st episode I already own so that takes it down to 18 episodes for me but if they add the april 2007 london England episode it will ensure I buy it.

  34. wwefan2013 says:

Last one: pre WM13 RAW aka first Raw Is War episode.

There has to be a volume 2. Way too many good episodes.

  35. NoNameHere says:

The 2004 Draft episode is one of the best Raws ever. But Benoit defended World Title on that show so I doubt it makes the cut

  36. wwefan2013 says:

Oh and also July 9th 2001 episode.

  37. Looks awesome I hope those are some of the episodes.

    • Avatar of Daniel Bee Daniel Bee says:

These synopses (three now) have come from trusted sources so very likely to be accurate in regards to the episodes being talked about. Hell, I’m sure WWE has had the Raws chosen for like a year already!

  38. wwefan2013 says:

    Draft 2002 please!!!!

  39. Eric says:

This is going to be awesome!

  40. Steven Jackson says:

    The content this DVD set is expected to have is impressive to say the least. I hope the WWE do this kind of thing in the future with other shows such as;

    Smackdown
    ECW Hardcore TV
    Saturday Night’s Main Event
    WCW Nitro
    WCCW Wrestling

I would like only two matches to be on this set. The Shawn Michaels vs. Marty Jannetty match from July 1993 and HHH and Austin vs. Jericho and Benoit from May 21st 2001. If so my life is complete…almost =)

  41. Avatar of Spritz1999 Spritz1999 says:

Yepp, definitely getting it, they have all 3 episodes that I wanted, plus more!!! Hopefully, now the Homecoming dvd will go down a little bit, since you can have the whole episode on the Blu-Ray!

  42. ck says:

I’m curious what the Blu-Ray extras will contain.

  43. Jeremy says:

I’ve wanted the raw homecoming dvd for a while now, I’m glad I didn’t spend what people were asking for! Now I can get it on blu ray along with many others for the same price they were charging on the homecoming alone.

  44. SRB says:

This is going to be much better than I thought.
    – March 26, 2001 – The Raw & Nitro Simulcast… CANT WAIT FOR THIS…..
It’s going to be great to see the packaging as well as full content with everything added as to what was happening on each episode, match by match

  45. Travis says:

I wonder if it is outside the realm of possibility that the set includes in-ring action that occurred when Raw cut to a commercial break.

Aside from the Lesnar/Angle Iron Man match from SmackDown! on Greatest Superstars of the 21st Century, I can’t recall any other TV match (with a commercial break) that aired in full on a DVD release.

  46. J says:

This is gonna be an EPIC SET seriously

  47. LP1 says:

This set is going to be really good. I still can’t see it being “completely” uncut and uncensored though. Certain theme songs are likely to be dubbed and I’m sure there will be in-show promotional ads for things like upcoming PPV’s and toys and magazines and things like that that will be cut out. Maybe I’m wrong though, we’ll see. Either way this is a first day buy.

    • Avatar of David David says:

For promotional ads, WWE still have them on the RAW episodes on Classics on Demand.

    • @IMDJLUIS says:

Dubbed music for sure, but I doubt they’d cut anything else. Undertaker’s The Streak has Todd interviewing someone ringside about the Bam Bam/Taylor match during the Undertaker/Bundy match and they left that in, although they could have easily edited it. They stopped editing stuff like that out of their shows a long time ago. They use to create cuts between commercial breaks, now they just let them fade out like they did with they aired.

  48. Somebody says:

Benoit appears in this? I’m marking out!

I do wish they’d include a couple of Raw episodes from 2004, though. There are some great matches that are unavailable in higher quality. But hey, I’d take some Benoit over no Benoit any day of the week!

  49. ALK says:

Kind of disappointed the Homecoming and 1st episodes are on it, as they are already available (Own set and on the 15th Anniversary set as a store/UK exclusive disc) but I guess its understandable as they are rare and pricey sets in the US anyway…

    • Anonymous says:

Even if they weren’t on rare to discs, it’d be bizarre to exclude them. Both of those Raws are incredibly important.

  50. @IMDJLUIS says:

Another episode I’d love to see is from 1998, the night Stone Cold was at WWE Headquarters. For some reason, they never touch on that subject at all today. That was some of the most entertaining stuff I’ve ever seen on WWE TV.

  51. SCSA says:

    I want to see episodes that show the build up to the;
    Corporation (w/corporate champ The Rock,
Shawn Michael’s firing by Vince – where in return he gives him Sweet chin music,
The beating by Owen Hart to the guy that played him as the ‘Nugget’ whilst DX pretended to be the Nation.

  52. I need to start saving my money.

  53. @IMDJLUIS says:

When this was originally announced, I couldn’t name very many episodes that I could think of that I would want to see put on this set. But as the list grows, it looks like it’s gonna be a great set after all.

  54. SteelEdge says:

Already got the first episode of Raw in full. It came as a bonus disc in the UK on the (I think) Raw 15th Anniversary set. Still looks an awesome boxset to own though.

    • @IMDJLUIS says:

Came as a bonus in the U.S. as well, I think Best Buy or Walmart. I have it, too.

      • Avatar of David David says:

It was a Walmart exclusive, its pretty rare in the US so its understandable to include it.

I don’t get why some are upset the Homecoming episode is included. The actual DVD goes for over $200…would you people rather pay that? not everyone has or even knows about that disc was sold at Walmart 7 years ago. If you people are mad paying over $100 for it and now WWE is including it, well then tough luck.

Keep in mind I’m only talking about the US, not UK – but will soon be rare in the UK too.

  55. neverAcquiesce says:

The lack of a Hart Foundation ’97 episode is disheartening.

  56. @IMDJLUIS says:

Alright, this is starting to be a bad ass set. I agree, I would prefer to see a big Best Of type box set again, but they’re actually choosing some great episodes here. I don’t even remember watching the Original ECW Invasion episode. I’m sure I did, I just can’t picture what it looked like, so that will be great. Hopefully they add the Raw before or after Invasion 2001, and/or the episode where WCW and ECW formed their alliance.

    • Avatar of David David says:

Yeah, WCW/ECW forming the alliance was a good overall episode…hopefully that makes it.

      • @IMDJLUIS says:

I hope so as well. I don’t remember the matches, but it was about the forming of the alliance all night and that was great television. WCW and WWE almost joining forces, ECW Originals coming through the audience. Aw man, I can’t see that episode NOT making it on this set. I would take that episode over the episode before WrestleMania X-7 any day, although that was a cool episode too. But it was really only great to see the interaction between the McMahons and WCW. We’ve seen plenty of highlights of those.

  57. Dalton g says:

People shut up this dvd is great

  58. Avatar of Domenic Domenic says:

I am psyched for this set!!!!!

  59. Jammer says:

Stop your biatching and complaining. This is great news for those who said over the years that they wish they would release complete Raw episodes. This set goes perfect with all the Best of Raw DVDs that have been released over the years. If you aren’t happy with the show selection, then may I suggest finding a way to get the shows you want in your collection via internet devices.

  60. Well this DVD has the full episodes but the selection is the same, the 15th DVD had Angle/Michaels, Austin/McMahon w/ Dude Love, an highlight video of the ECW invasion, the Nitro/Raw thing.

  61. This looks exactly like Raw 15th Anniversary DVD. Lazy bastards. Now that DVD kicked some ass, too bad I lose it :(

  62. Daniel says:

Nobody is ever satisfied. You want Benoit matches you get them. You want full Raw episodes you get them. Stop moaning, I can’t wait for this.

  63. Avatar of Wonderllama Wonderllama says:

I would still rather get selected matches, segments, and highlights across the 20 year history of RAW instead of entire episodes. Especially with 12 DVDs? That would be a lot of content

  64. Avatar of Dan Mader Dan Mader says:

33.5 hours. I will never leave my room. Words cannot describe how excited I am to get this set. I’ve never been so excited to spend $79.99!

    • ALK says:

That’s nothing. I sat through all 140+ eps of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on my complete DVD collection in a matter of 3 weeks, including the 2 bonus feature discs. XD

    • Avatar of Kevin Kevin says:

It is actually a hair under 17 hours of content…according to amazon it has 1,000 minutes of content…divide that by 60 and you get 16.66 hours of content (assuming my math is right)

      • Avatar of Mark D Mark D says:

We’ve got 2000 minutes as the approx run time (that’s around 166 mins per DVD). 17 hours isn’t enough for 20 episodes, as most episodes are 1.5 hours or longer.

      • Avatar of Daniel Bee Daniel Bee says:

Even if each ep was 1 hour (they can’t be, they are longer than that), there are 20eps which would total 20 hours already. So Amazon’s info right now has to be inaccurate.
