Not bad, except for the documentry, which was on the WCW dvd. Instead I’d rather see a 3 disc set which would allow the quality of the matches to speak for themselves. Still undecided though if I’d have a disc soley featuring the best of 7 between Magnum T.A and Nikita Koloff

    • Avatar of Mark D Mark D says:

The story told on Rise & Fall of WCW wasn’t a true story of Crockett promotions it was a kind of jumbled mess and didn’t ever get into proper story.

This one should be on next years Release Schedule! :)))

  5. KarlKayfabian says:

Great job, Mark! I’d buy it and the stuff you cut out in a volume2!

  6. mark foster says:

I would love to see a nwa dvd collection.Other great set would be a Vader collection and a unreleased road warrior set like they did wit hulk hogan.Nobody deserves a utimate dvd set more then andre the giant.A lot of young people didnt get to see how great he was.A list of matches i would like to see.Stan hansen, ernie ladd, black jack mulligan, kamala, king kong bundy, jhon studd, jerry blackwell, utimate warrior, and hulk hogan when hogan was the bad guy. This would sell would wide, because he had fans all over the world

  7. Anan says:

I don’t know about the WCW stuff. I’d cut out the WCW portion of the documentary since whatever would be said about it would miror what was said in The Rise And Fall OF WCW documentary, Hell, the whole WCW chapter of this proposed documentuary might consist of recycled material from Rise And Fall since WWE’s got a habit of recycling stuff.

    Just my opinion.

You should od fantasy concepts on Vader, Macho Man and Paul Bearer/Percy Pringle. They deserve a documentary set along with HOF Inductions themselves. Just wish the HOF Induction and documentary sets on Savage on Paul/Percy was done while he was still with us. The WWE should release a set on Paul when Taker’s available to comment.

Comments on Paul’s set should be done by:
    JR
    Michael Hayes
Steve Austin – believe it or not, he was managed by Percy Pringle III a.ka. Paul Bearer
Vader and Mick Foley, who were managed by Paul in WWE
    Kane
    Vince Mcmahon
    Jerry Lawler
and of course, Taker, who Paul managed the longest since they were together in WWE and during Taker’s territory days. In act, he managed Taker during Taker’s first professional match in 84 at the Dallas Sportatorium where Taker met Brusier Brody.

A set on The Spoiler as well as one on Dynamite Kid would be awesome and these two superstars would be great subjects of fantasy concepts too.

  8. RCS1988 says:

Another great fantasy concept. I always look forward to this and Coliseum Corner. I was thinking, if WWE did something like WWE Coliseum Video Fan Favorite Matches, a 3 disc 2 disc blu-ray set hosted by Sean Mooney where fans on the facebook page and other social media outlets request matches from the Fan favorite time period 1989-1995, I think a lot of hidden gems would be used for the set.

    • Anan says:

I’d actually prefer they release every Coliseum Video on DVD first and then release a set containing previously unreleased matches that were voted by fans to make the cut.

      • Anonymous says:

I really don’t want to see all the Coliseum Videos released to DVD. But, I’d love it if they put together a 3-DVD set of “Lost Coliseum Classics” featuring the best unreleased to DVD Coliseum matches.

    This looks really really cool.

What is the significance of “Sting vs. Bob Emory NWA World Championship Wrestling • January 30, 1988″ though?

  11. Anonymous says:

Great concept! You’ve outdone yourself with this one and I’d buy this in an instant.

If I had any suggestions to make it better it would be to remove any pre-1981 footage as I’m pretty sure they don’t have any of it in the vaults and I never want to see any multi-generation VHS stuff released like the Georgia footage they released in a set earlier this year. You also need to add more Flair content as he was, without question, the most important figure in the history of the company and the biggest drawing card available for this set when it comes to their DVD buying audience. Stuff like the following really needs to finally be released and would work great on this set:
-Bash 1985 Flair vs. Nikita Koloff
-April 1986 Crockett Cup inaugural main event: Flair vs. Rhodes
    -Bash 1986 Flair vs. Hawk
    -Starrcade 1986 Flair vs. Koloff
-NWA Superbouts Flair/Luger vs. Rock ‘n’ Roll Express
-May 23, 1987 NWA Pro Flair/Luger vs. Superpowers
-Bash 1987 Flair vs. Jimmy Garvin cage match
-September 1987 Flair vs. Ronnie Garvin title change cage match from Detroit
-Bunkhouse Stampede co-main events: Flair vs. Hawk and the Bunkhouse Stampede final

WWE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS.
They’ve done it for for practically every other company whose catalog they own. Now let’s see a JCP set! If they need help with the history, just contact the Mid Atlantic Gateway people.

  12. Steven Jackson says:

Brilliant concept and one I would definitely consider buying if it was real. JCP/NWA/WCW had some of my favourite matches so it would be a good collection to watch and learn from. I always thought that the Starrcade Essential collection concept was great and this set is very similar. I would like WWE to re-use it with future WCW/NWA releases about Halloween Havoc, Great American Bash and other NWA footage. A great set. =)

  13. CrimeDawg says:

You really put a lot of work into this. It would be an incredible set that is for sure.

  14. victory73 says:

This would be cool. The only matches I would try to add would be the Final Conflict match itself not just the signing. It’s a great cage match that I can’t believe hasn’t been released yet.

Another would be the Road Warriors vs the Russians from the Superstars on the Superstation instead of the Bash 86. Much better match.

Also the bench press contest with the Road Warriors and Powers of Pain would be a nice extra.

  15. matthew says:

    can you buy fantasy concept

  16. Eric says:

You obviously put a lot of thought and work into this. It is great. I can’t wait to see what you come up with when the HHH dvd release gets closer.

  17. Fear says:

    Great stuff

  18. Scott says:

-This set would easily eclipse Best Of Nitro
-I didn’t see the Windham vs Rhodes US Title Match from GAB not sure if that is considered WCW
-The only thing better would be anthology set for JCP starting from 81 or 82

  19. Scott says:

I would buy this. Nice work…again! Keep em coming!

  20. Avatar of David David says:

Highspots are going to be producing a Jim Crockett Promotions documentary. They had a kickstarter and it got funded couple months ago. It should be interesting.

    • Avatar of Mark D Mark D says:

I believe it is going to premier at the Mid-Atlantic Fanfest in August, also the people behind the Mid-Atlantic Fanfest (namely Greg Price) is also working on an Mid-Atlantic documentary due out next year.

  21. John says:

Please stop posting fantasy concepts, it makes people think that it is going to come out like King_1099

You are getting people excited only to be disappointed that it will never come out

    It is annoying!

    • Avatar of Daniel Bee Daniel Bee says:

If you think they are going to come out, train yourself that when the article title begins “Fantasy Concept”, well it’s not coming out because it’s a fantasy.

      Duh!

It’s fun to bring up ideas for new WWE DVDs and debate. Not to mention various concepts Mark made eventually did get released in one form or another.

  22. King_1099 says:

    When does this come out?

  23. james mayfield says:

Great concept I hope they really do release something like this with the mid south DVD coming out I really dont see why they couldn’t

  24. Steven says:

Everything looks great on this, but one problem where’s The Fabulous Freebirds?

  25. Steve says:

Really nice work. Maybe if you worked for WWE home video we wouldn’t get crap like OMG & The top 50 finishers which included he same move by 6 different guys.

  26. Jason H says:

Awesome concept, nice to see Steamboat vs Tully from Starrcade on here. I’m surprised its never been released before.

  27. R&REXPRESS#1 says:

Great idea & concept…great looking packaging …too bad it will never happen.

  28. SRB says:

    Cough cough… Rick Rude

  29. Travis says:

Seriously, can we get Mark D into the WWE Library and have him assist in putting some compilations/retrospectives together?
