As first revealed on the 2013 WWE DVD Schedule, and following Mick Foley and Bill Goldberg comments on their respective DVD projects, it appears that Bret Hart’s Unreleased Matches is also in the planning stages according to a recent Tweet from Bret:

@BretHart
Starting to review matches for the new “Unreleased Matches” DVD

Following Bret’s initial announcement he went on to reply to fans suggestions for potential matches. Here are some of the suggestions along with Bret’s replies:

@BretHart think the match with Curt hennig from Alaska that you wrote about in your book will be on there?

–No. No Cameras

@BretHart Please get a ladder match from Stampede in there, although I’m unsure if they have been released before/there is footage!

–I’ll check

@BretHart Any chance that some of your WCW matches will be considered? I recall Halloween Havoc vs Sting in particular.

–I think so

@BretHart can u put that rare No Holds Barred match with Owen from RAW in early 1995? Only seen it the 1 time it aired.

–I’ll look into it

@BretHart got anything with Dr. D David Shultz? His feud with Leo Burke is classic. Then they teamed up. Great memories

–Only bits and pieces

@BretHart Anything w/Isaac Yankem DDS! Or the Survivor Series battle against Jerry the King and his Knights.

–A worthy consideration

@brethart By any chance is there any unreleased matches with Randy Savage? I know u had 1 or 2 matches with him in wcw and wwf/e. :)

–There may be one from Japan

As part of our ‘fantasy concept’ earlier this year we looked at a Bret Hart Unreleased Collectors Series set, here’s how we though it should look.

Of course this isn’t the first time that Bret has been very hands on with a WWE DVD project. Back in the summer of 2005 Bret spent time at WWE Headquarters planning his DVD – “Bret Hart: Best There Is, Best There Was, Best There Ever Will Be” selecting matches and moments to be included on that release.

Currently ‘Bret Hart Unreleased Matches‘ is scheduled for release on March 5, 2013; of course we expect more details over the coming weeks and months.

Which unreleased Bret Hart matches would you like to see included on the set? As always please share your thoughts in the comments below.

Would love to see the full match from January 17th, 1992

Mountie vs. Bret Hart from Springfield, Mass. The highlights of this match were shown for about 30 seconds on the 1992 Royal Rumble DVD, but would be great to see this never relased full match. Also an important match that set up Piper vs. Bret at Wrestlemania VIII I believe there was just one camera, which was a handheld on the floor that evening.

  4. Naveen says:

Bret hart, please include one match with Shawn michaels where you defeated through straight pinfall. I remember watch a match like that with sensational sherry & also include the lumberjack match with Sid justice in raw and also raw match with Hearst hunter helmsely in 1996 in raw. Please.

Bret & warrior Vs Shango & Kamala. Where is that match I would love to see that. He wrote about he & Andre in Italy, so I’d like that & Him vs Undertaker, MSG 1992 would be great.

      • RCS1988 says:

While their 1992 match at MSG was good, I would rather see their match from the 10/22/91 Challenge taping, because I heard it was very good, and was supposed to be on the Coliseum Video Supertape 92, but ended up not being used. Another good match for the Bret DVD would be this.

Bret Hart vs. Hakushi in a steel cage match 7/25/95 Superstars taping Evansville, IN

  25. Anonymous says:

Hopefully Bret puts aside petty jealousy and silly grudges and give the fans something different. The first set was fine, but still missing lots of things while including rather random stuff. I just hope this time he gets it right.

I hope they focus on the 1991 period where he was climbing the ranks as a singles wrestler as an I-C champ. His WWF title days have already been well documented so I don’t care to see much of that outside of his feud with Austin and 1996 match in South Africa.

For me, I want to see his I-C matches and WCW matches like the ultra rare tag match he had where he teamed with Flair vs. Sting/DDP/Luger, or his singles matches against Booker T and Sting. Otherwise I fear it’ll be a yawner or more of the same.

  26. Anonymous says:

awesome, Bret vs The Rock should be on this set

  27. mommy says:

love this idea, sure i would like a war games set among others

but this would be a great set and they could do much worser imo, bret is one of the best if not the best in ring workers ever and he’s had plenty of great matches not released, plus they could dip into the wcw vault as well

  28. Anonymous says:

i want to see his match vs sting from wcw mayhem 99 in the wcw title tournament.

  29. rohfan says:

    Vs dynamite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  30. joshua dodd says:

Really another Bret Hart set??? Why cant we as consumers beable to buy the first Owen Hart set before the “fourth” Bret Hart set? Come on now!!! While your at it why not release another Hulk Hogan set….riiiiiggggghhhhtttt.

    • Vincenzzzzzo says:

Firstly, Bret Hart was one of the greatest wrestlers to ever step between the ropes. If they produced 20 DVD sets on him it wouldn’t be enough for me. Secondly, there are obviously some things you do not understand about the Owen Hart situation.

      • joshua dodd says:

I didnt mean to come across disrepectful, I understand that Owen was under rated and under appreciated..and carried baggage, as did his brother and brother in law, I am a HUGE Bret fan but really why not produce something new and fresh i.e. War Games/ IYH/ Randy Savage Documentry/ Nick Bockwinkel/ etc. There is uncharted waters still left to explore rather then HBK/ Undertaker/ Bret/ Hogan/ Cena

        • attitudefan says:

It’s not that they don’t want to do a set on OWen, they Can’t do one on him. The lawsuit that his wife filed against WWE for the accident that took Owen’s life prevents them from featuring him on any dvd releases and the HOF. She raised a stink over the Hart Family Anthology because he was featured on it so don’t expect one on him anytime soon

  31. indyfan says:

WWE is leaning… Wrestling fans usually buy all dvds and don’t want repeats. This is a must buy.

I wonder if WWE have the iron man match between Owen and Bret?

  32. Harry Faversham says:

I really hope that terrible Silver Vision news doesn’t stop me getting my hands on this. It will be incredible.

  33. Anonymous says:

now that we have bret unreleased matches how about a ric flair unreleased matches

    • Tom says:

Do we really need more of flair getting caught climbing ropes then being thrown off? More chops, knee drops, begging for mercy, getting back body dropped or military press slammed? More low blows, having his figure-four reversed, poke to the eyes, blade job…etc?

Seen one flair match, seen them all.

    • Anonymous says:

I couldn’t agree more. We need another Flair set before any other wrestler. They could release a dozen Unreleased Archives Flair sets and they’d all be great. While this is a UK-based site, as a North American I say we NEED More Flair!!!

  34. Vincenzzzzzo says:

Bret Hart vs Owen Hart RAW 1995 No Holds Barred was awesome. Hope that match makes it one the release for sure.

  35. Jamie says:

WWE needs too release more of these type of dvds of unreleased matchs of every main eventer

    • Avatar of Mark D Mark D says:

I’ve been saying the same thing ever since the Hogan one came out. Because it appeals to hardcore fans because everything’s brand new and casual fans because you can still list Bret vs. Austin, Bret vs. Undertaker and Bret vs. Savage on the back of the box will also go for it. Everyone’s a winner! :)

  36. Matt says:

Owen Hart – No Hold Barred on Raw
    Ted Dibiase
    Bad News Brown
    Rick Martel
Steve Austin – Sun City or Kuwait
    Isaac Yankem – Cage Match
    Dean Melenko
Ric Flair – First WWF/E Title Win and Souled Out 1998
Booker T – US Title #1 Contender Match

  37. Anonymous says:

i would like to see more hart foundation matches vs the killer bees that’s only found on the old wwf coliseum videos.

  38. John Rega says:

Vs. Diesel in your house steel cage match
    Vs. skinner tuesday in texas
Vs. austin, vader and taker – fatal four way
    Vs. sid steel cage

  39. warresg says:

Must be never released before to qualify or what?
Released under anthology counted or not?

    • WWEATTITUDEERA says:

Anthology does count because on the hulk hogan unreleased dvd not 1 match was on the dvd that was on the anthology set maybe becuz on fist hogan dvd a lot the matches that were on the anthology set was on the first hogan ultimate anthology dvd back in 05,
They might make a slight exception here since they might think fans are dumb and wont realise but maybe the wont and will like to include actual unreleased matches but then again bret hart is hands on with the set!!

    • Avatar of Mark D Mark D says:

We’re not 100% on the criteria, but the Hogan set didn’t include any match from a compilation set or an anthology release; but however did include matches from Coliseum Home Videos. So let’s assume that’s the critera (for now at least).

    • warresg says:

      Then I’ll pick the following.
Hart Foundation vs British Bulldogs – 11/14/87
Hart Foundation vs Killer Bees – 2/23/87
Bret Hart vs Bad News Brown – 4/25/88
Bret Hart vs Shawn Michaels – 12/1/94
Bret Hart vs Yokozuna – 8/13/93
Bret Hart & Mr Perfect vs Lex Lugar & Razor Ramon – 3/21/93
Bret Hart & Razor Ramon vs Owen Hart & Jim Neidhart – 8/25/94
Bret Hart & British Bulldog vs Owen Hart & Bob Backlund – 1/25/95
Bret Hart vs Diamond Dallas Page – 11/30/98
      Bret Hart vs Booker T – 1/25/99
Bret Hart & Hulk Hogan vs Sting & Lex Lugar – 9/13/99
Bret Hart vs Sting – 10/18/99
Bret Hart & Hart Dynasty vs Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel & Michael Tarver

  40. RMPunk says:

Can we finally get the Final Four IYH match on DVD?

    • WWEATTITUDEERA says:

They might leave that out since they might want to include in the upcoming best of in your house dvd that might get released in 2013, other than that they will mad not include on bret dvd since he wins the championship and its a awesome match that should have got a released long time ago on dvd but is available on tagged classic with in your house 13 and 16 dvd!!

  41. Scsa says:

Well, if it’s going to be on Blu-ray, then I’d like to see the Bret Vs Owen match again from Wrestlemania 10, when Bret beat Yokozuna for the title! I’d also like to see a great match he had in his rivlary with Bob Backlund (cant remember which one :( and a match he had with Yokozuna at Wrestlemania 9 which was also great!

    • WWEATTITUDEERA says:

Remember its unreleased matches, the match he had with owen hart at mania 10 was on brets first dvd in 2005 and is also on the the greatest superstars of the 90s dvd, so you can count that out, his match wilth bob backlund on superstars in 94 is on the new release of the greatest 50 finishing moves in wwe history, so count that one out, you could put in his match with backlund at survivor series 1994 but he loses and is available on tagged classics here in the uk and on the volume 2 of survivor series anthology,

    • WWEATTITUDEERA says:

The Matches i would like on here would be:

vs Owen Hart No Holds Barred WWF Raw 1995
vs Sting Hardcore Match WCW Nitro 1998
      vs Goldberg WCW Starrcade 1999
vs Terry Funk Hardcore Match WCW Thunder 1998
vs Sid Vicious WWF Championship WWF Raw 1997
vs Randy Savage WCW Slamboree 1998
      vs Diesel WWF Wrestlefest 1994
      vs Goldust WWF Raw 1996
And Hakushi vs Jerry Lawler and Isaac Yankem DDS Tag Match WWF Raw 1995
vs Ric Flair WCW Souled Out 1998
vs Randy Savage WWF Champiosnhip Japan Yokohama Arena 1994

All i could think of at this time!!

      • HankHill says:

The match with Savage from Japan wasn’t taped. The only footage that exists is from a handheld camera in the crowd.

        • WWEATTITUDEERA says:

Ahh Shame but if they were going to include 1 match with Randy Savage they should include his match with Savage at WCW Slamboree in 1998 !!

      • Nash Wrestling says:

Bret Hitman Hart VS Rick Rude (Italy)
Bret Hitman Hart & Mr Perfect VS Lex Luger & Razor Ramon
Bret Hitman Hart VS The Anvil Neidhart
Bret Hitman Hart VS Tito Santana
Bret Hitman Hart VS Andre The Giant (Italy)
all his matches against Randy Savage
        Tag team with Ultimate Warrior
